Hi guys, I'm a new Reaper user. I'm coming from Logic. I've only used reaper for a few days and already I'm loving it. However I'm experiencing a big issue. The performance of my system under reaper is really poor. I can't even load a single instance of Nebula without the audio being all messed up (sounds like lag). My computer is definitely strong enough to put up with Nebula. I have an i7 Hackintosh with 16gb of Ram. I've never had issues with Nebula in Logic. Can someone please let me know how to optimize the settings so that I can run my favorite plugins? Many thanks! JP
Maybe some plugin incompatibility? Take a look into Performance Meter what's wrong. Next you should try to tune your souncard buffers/latency. Some plugins don't like too low block sizes ( but I had problems only under 32 byte and only with some plugins ).

Hi Jpchartrand, Just curious if you figured anything out? I'm in pretty much the same situation as you. I'm on a new, powerful hackintosh and Nebula is causing some big performance issues. My computer performance meter is registering the same as the Reaper performance meter. I'm getting the same glitchy, lagged audio. Just curious if you found a solution on your end. Thanks! Dave
ummm richie I don't have a prob, the OP does... I was guessing it might be cuz of hackintosh that he is using for OS. oh btw, do you find the nebula website not working today? I get a 404 error when trying to get to it
Hey guys yeah I've been playing around with buffering options. Nothing really seems to make that big of a difference...It could be a hackintosh thing. It was a real mac pro that was basically just suped up a bit by a company that does it professionally for pro sound/video, and otherwise it runs perfectly...Its just strange to see my cpu meters at a max of 20% while getting garbled audio. I dunno, I'm confused. Thanks for your help. Dave
