Ok not sure if this is the right thread but i had an avi file that i wanted to convert to mpg, i was using several different programs and i stopped them while processing because they were taking too long. This screwed the avi up to high heaven. When i opened it it would play the scenes all backwards and screwy and the sound was horribly out of sync. So i used avifreeze to fix it and the playback was normal again but the audio ony played the entire opening song over and over. The original avi that was damaged had the normal AC3 audio track still so i extracted the ac3 with virtual dub mod, now my question is how do i get everything back to normal again? Thanks.
Hi! 1) Load the "fixed" .AVI into VirtualDubMOD 2) Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Processing" 3) Click on the "Streams" dropdown menu 4) Click on "Streams List" 5) Click on "Disable" to (surprise!) disable the problematic audiostream 6) Click on "Add" and select the "good" .AC3 audiostream you want to add back - Click on "OK" 7) Click on "File" and save with a new filename
ugh can't quite get voe's avi-mux to work and when i load up the ac3 into virtual dubmod it says "blah.ac3 is not a valid ac3 file" wtf i used virtual dub mod to extract the damn audio...
